Lance McCullers hasnt slowed down since the World Series ended earlier this month.It hasnt all been appearances, parades and celebrations, though.McCullers and his wife, Kara, are keeping busy with a project near and dear to their hearts.Since joining the Astros in 2015, McCullers has been involved with local animal rescue organizations.Currently, McCullers works closely with Houston Pets Alive, which rescues animals on euthanasia lists all over the area and finds them foster or permanent homes.    One of the group's shelters is still full of dogs and cats and loses its residence at 8620 Stella Link Road on Dec. 6.The group is looking for anyone who wants to foster or adopts dogs or cats. They also could use donations or volunteers.    Now Playing              Houston Chronicle sports columnist Jenny Dial Creech spent some time with Houston Astro Lance McCullers and his wife as they raise awareness for animals needing adoption, foster care and volunteer work with Houston Pets Alive.            Media R.
